Display Screen Equipment (Computer Workstation) Assessor and Ergonomic Principles Training

The course is for Display Screen Equipment Assessors, Managers and Project Managers. It is useful as a refresher course for existing assessors. There are no specific pre-requisites for the course.

The next course is on Tuesday 11th May 2010, 9am-12pm at 4 Londesborough Business Park, 64-66 Londesborough Road, Scarborough. The course fee is £40 per delegate.

Topic areas covered in this course include:

  • The main hazards associated with Display Screen Equipment (DSE) work
  • Potential DSE injuries and/or ill-health
  • Requirements of the Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations and 2002 amendments
  • Hazard identification and conducting a DSE risk assessment
  • Correct set-up and adjustment of workstations; working environment and work routine
  • Laptop use, hot desking and home working
  • Safe use of handheld devices, e.g. PDAs and iPhones

    The course includes presentations, discussions and practical exercises, a comprenhensive resource book is provided to students.

    A certificate of attendance and completion is awarded at the end of the course.
